The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) is the cornerstone of U.S. trade policy with Africa and provides highly preferential access to the U.S. market for thousands of products produced in, and exported by, qualifying countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. The United States created AGOA as a way to help the countries of sub-Saharan Africa increase their access to U.S. markets in order to improve trade. Presently, the AGOA trade preferences are currently set to expire in September 2025.
Learn more about how to qualify for the AGOA treatment, and read how entrepreneurs across Africa are taking advantage of this trade preference.
