PARTNER WITH THE NEXT GENERATION OF AFRICAN LEADERS
Through the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), the U.S. government is working in partnership with a robust network of stakeholders from across the continent and in the United States to support young African leaders as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across Africa.
Already, universities, corporations, NGOs, and government institutions have become YALI partners for activities in the U.S. and across the African continent by hosting Mandela Washington Fellows, supporting YALI Regional Leadership Centers, developing new initiatives with the YALI Network, offering access to grants and financing, and offering hand-on learning through service and professional opportunities.

Help Us Connect Young Americans to Africa
The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) empowers a new generation of young Africans to contribute to solving challenges in their communities and around the world. This initiative also builds lasting linkages between the U.S. and Africa in government, business, and civil society. To increase the connection between the U.S. and Africa, the U.S. government will foster new ways for young Americans to travel to Africa, enhancing their knowledge and global skillset alongside their YALI counterparts.
We encourage companies and organizations from across the U.S. and Africa to join us and each other to commit to supporting educational, professional, and service programs for Americans in Africa in service of the YALI goals.
